One of the most anticipated events at HuntFest is the skinning, butchering and sausage making demonstrations. It is imperative that all hunters learn how to safely skin large and small game safely so as to recover the maximum amount of game meat wherever possible.
The skinning display demonstrates the correct and safe procedure of removing the skin so that there if very little damage to usable meat and secondly so the skin can be utilized at a later date whether for tanning or taxidermy.
Along with the butchering demonstration attendees will learn how to safely handle recovered meats to minimize the possibility of food spoilage or poisoning. A practical demonstration is always held on basic sausage making so that nothing from the animal is wasted.
The skinning display is always well attended.
